MY CULTURAL SNAPSHOT
Hello, today I will talk to you about what I have in my
snapshot of art and culture
In music
Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour is what I continually listen to, the songs she plays in the concert that lasts 3 hours, in addition to watching the performances of different songs. I have been listening to Taylor since 2008, the first song I heard was You Belong With Me and since then, she has been my favorite singer.
In art
The presentation that is in the entrance hall of the university, in commemoration of the 50 years of the military coup, was released this Tuesday, September 5, its name is Huellas, several groups participate showing their archives and compilations of what can be related of the military coup.
In books
In books, I am reading several simultaneously, I will talk about two in particular, the first is by Julieta Kirkwood and is called "Being Political". This book is quite interesting, it talks about the path of women to be considered in political decisions, it also mentions the first Wave of Chilean Feminist Movement, this book is interesting to understand the feminist movement and how women developed to obtain the vote and female emancipation.
The second text is "The Camera Lucida" by Roland Barthes, this text talks about the image and how a photograph is constructed, about its imaginary as well, as what this photograph wants to express by being captured in the positions that the objects have, and the arrangement in the plane.
At the cinema
This week I went to see the film Oppenheimer, which is about the scientist who created the first atomic bomb, and as was the entire process to get there, this film lasts 3 hours, it is intense but very good.
This week I saw a documentary called "Hoy no mañana", this documentary is exactly about a feminist movement that emerged during the military dictatorship called "Women for Life", this documentary shows all the protests led by this movement.
Have a good week, see you in the next post!
I don't usually read books, but I think when you touch some paper you can feel other emotions differently than when reading digitally.
